Boots are tough for me. I have a bad case of Yeti-foot and I need boots far larger than someone of my 5’9” height typically requires. Infer from that what you will but I’ll tell you one thing that men with large feet do have: a damn hard time finding comfortable footwear. The Redington Prowlers were a gamble for me since I couldn’t find any in person to try on before I ordered them, but the grisly death of my Cabela’s wading boots kind of tipped my hand. I tried on a pair of Redington Palix boots at a local store, crossed my fingers, and hoped that the sizing ran true through the brand.
The first thing I did in the boots was hike 8 miles through Rocky Mountain National park looking for a fishable stream. While I didn’t actually manage to get the boots wet, they were comfortable for the whole hike, which I guess is a good sign for the future. I’ve been impressed by these boots so far and I have high hopes for them as the summer wears on.
